Tämän perjantain popeissa tutustutaan yhtyeeseen NCT ja sen kolmeen alaryhmään.
NCT (kor. 엔시티) on vuonna 2016 perustettu eteläkorealainen yhtye, jonka levy-yhtiönä toimii SM Entertainment. Yhtyeen nimi tulee englannin kielen sanoista "Neo Culture Technology", joka kuvaa yhtyeen periaatetta rajattomasta jäsenten määrästä. Jäsenet on jaettu eri alaryhmiin, joita on tällä hetkellä kolme: NCT U, NCT 127 ja NCT Dream joista kuuntelimme jokaiselta muutaman kipaleen.
This Friday we are gonna get to know NCT and its three subgroups.
NCT is a South-Korean boy band by SM Entertainment that debuted in 2016. The name comes from the words "Neo Culture Technology", which represents the idea of limitless amount of band members. The members are divided in three subgroups: NCT U, NCT 127 and NCT Dream. We listened a few songs from them all.
Kuunneltiin Without U sekä The 7th sense ja valittiin jälkimmäinen, koska se iski molempiin paremmin. Molemmissa videoon oli selkeästi panostettu ja näytti mahtavalta, mutta biitti ja olemus The 7th sense:ssä vaan tempas mukaansa. Videon väreillä leikkiminen yhdistettynä suht rauhalliseen tahtiin sai olon hiukka psykedeeliseksi. SM:n yhtyeeksi yllättävän hyvää englannin lausumista!
We listened to Without U and The 7th sense and we picked the latter because it was just so much more of a bop. In both videos the quality was really good and looked awesome, but The 7th sense had a beat and atmosphere that just pulled us in more. The playing with colors in the video and super chill beat gave a sort of psychedelic feeling. Also, there was some very good English pronunciation for a SM group!
Chewing gum oli meille jo ennestään tuttu, joten valittiin My first and last tähän. Todella pirteä ja hyvän mielen musiikkia! Just sellasta kevyttä ja ilosta mitä tykätään kuunnella taustalla kun piirrellään tai muuta vastaavaa touhutaan. Tanssille plussaa, paljon menevämpää ja hauskempaa kun U:lla, johtuen tietysti erilaisesta konseptista. Nuorten poikien annetaan olla nuoria, eikä seksualisoida samantien.
We were already familiar with Chewing gum, so we chose to listen to My first and last. It was a really bright and cheerful song. This is the kind of happy and chill music that we both like to listen to while drawing etc. Dancing was a huge plus, the choreos were much more upbeat and more fun than NCT U, obviously because the concept was different. It's also good that they let the young boys be young, without sexualising them too soon.
Tämä. On. Mahtava. Aika undergroung vibat tästä sai, mutta ehkäpä se oli tarkotus. Just tällästä etenkin multa (Sarilta) löytyy mm. puhelimen soittolistoilta. Räppi... no, 6/5. Kertaakaan ei tylsistyttänyt kesken videon tai biisin.
Yhteenvetona, tullaan aivan varmasti jokaselta jotakin lisäilemään listoille ja jatkossa seurataan tulevia comebackeja. Molemmilla lemppariks kyllä nousi NCT 127, jolta muutama biisi on myös jo ennestään tuttu. (Firetruck on bop, menkää kuuntelemaan se T:Marianne)
This. Is. Awesome. We got a lot of underground vibes from this, and that was most likely intended. This is the type of music that especially Sari has in her phone's playlists. Rapping... 6/5. We didn't get bored at any time of the song or video.
In conclusion, we are definitely going to add some songs of NCT to our playlists and we'll continue to wait for more comebacks. Bot of our favourite subgroup is NCT 127, from which we had already heard some songs before. (Firetruck is a bop, go listen to it - Marianne)

Perjantai (K) Popit #1
Moikka! Ajateltiin aloittaa tällainen jatkuva sarja, perjantai (K) popit eli lyhyemmin PKP, jossa esitellään uusia/huomiotta jääneitä k-pop grouppeja. Tosiaan, ollaan molemmat kuunneltu korealaista poika(ja tyttö!)poppia enemmän tai vähemmän lähes kymmenen vuotta. Nyt on viime vuosina jäänyt etenkin uudet ryhmät vähän meillä varjoon, joten tän kautta aateltiin myös ite tutustua uusiin bändeihin sekä tuoda heille vähän näkyvyyttä.
Homman idea: joka toinen perjantai (tänään meni tosin pari minuuttia lauantain puolelle...) julkastaan kahdesta ryhmästä esittelyt, videot sekä omat mielipiteemme uudehkoista/vähemmän tutuista ryhmistä laidasta laitaan. Ja hei; aina saa heittää kommenttia jos teistä joku ryhmä on jäänyt muiden suosituimpien varjoon ja koette heidän ansaitsevan enemmän rakkautta ;)
Hello! We decided to start a blog series, Friday (K) POPS where we introduce new/less known k-pop groups. Both of us have been listening to Korean boy (and girl) groups more or less for about ten years. During the last couple of years we haven't been as active at listening to new groups, so this is a way for us to get back in the business.
General idea: Every other Friday we will write about two groups we are not that familiar with. We'll write short introductions, link our fav video and tell you OUR own opinions of their music. If you have a certain group in mind that needs more love, feel free to leave a comment :)
“Black6ix (블랙식스)” on Etelä-Korealainen poikaryhmä yhtiöltä Black Hole Entertainment. Ryhmän debyytti oli vasta viikko sitten, 6.4.2017. kappaleella "Please" ja tosiaan, tämä kappale valittiin kun ei heiltä muita musiikkivideoita vielä löydy.
Itse biisi oli melankolinen, kuten myös video. Pelkkää harmaata taustaa ja muutamia "vaihtoefektejä" jotka on tuttuja jo vanhemmilta artisteilta. Sanat olivat kuitenkin okei, ihan perus poikapoppia. Debyyttibiisiksi ei hirveen mieleenpainuva, enemmän on meillä molemmilla mieleen räjähtävät alut tai vaikkapa oudot videot mitkä jäävät heti katselun jälkeen mieleen. Myös tanssiin olisi voinut lisätä puhtia vaikka hiljanen kappale olikin, ei kuitenkaan niin hiljainen mitä tanssi antoi ymmärtää. Poikien laulu tosin oli puhdasta ja kivaa kuunneltavaa, joten jatkoa odotellessa!
"Black6ix (블랙식스)" is a South Korean boy group by Black Hole Entertainment. They debuted only a week ago, 6.4.2017 with their song "Please" and this was obviously the song we chose since they don't have any other music videos yet.
The song itself was melancholic, as well as the video. Nothing but gray background and some "switching effects" which are familiar from other artists. The lyrics were okay though, basic k-pop. As a debut song this was not the most memorable, we both prefer more of a mind blowing start, or weird videos which you'll remember after watching. Also the dance could have been a little more upbeat even if the song was kind of slowish. It wasn't THAT slow. The singing was clear and pleasing to listen to, so we'll definitely wait for more!
OH MY GIRL on kahdeksanhenkinen tyttöryhmä WM Entertainmentiltä. Heidän debyyttinsä oli 21.4.2015. Viimeisin EP "Coloring book" julkaistiin 3.4.2017.
Katsottiin muutamakin musiikkivideo näiltä, mutta lemppariksi nousi "Cupid" koska se oli biiseistä iskevin. Jokainen musavideo oli omalaatuinen ja värikäs, mutta Cupidissa video sekä biisi olivat molemmat todella hyviä.
Kaikki videossa oli ultrasöpöä - värikäs ympäristö, suloiset asut Amorin nuolineen sekä plussaa parille länsimaalaiselle näyttelijälle. Nykyään länsimaalaisten näkyminen k-pop musavideoilla on selkeästi yleistynyt. Tanssi oli simppeli, mutta hauska ja biisiin sopiva. Ehdottomasti menee omalle opeteltavien tanssien listalle!
Yleisesti ottaen Oh My Girlin biisit oli hauskoja, mutta aika perus tyttöpoppia. Muutamat biisit kyllä ehdottomasti löytävät tiensä soittolistallemme!
OH MY GIRL is a girl group from WM Entertainment with eight members. They debuted on 21.4.2015. Their latest EP "Coloring book" was published on 3.4.2017
We watched a few of their MV's, but our favorite one was "Cupid" because it was the most lit song. Each music video was unique and colorful, but in Cupid the song and video were both great.
Everything in the video was ultra cute - the colorful surroundings, adorable costumes with Cupid's arrows and an extra plus for the western actors. Nowadays showing western people in k-pop music videos are clearly becoming more common. The dance was simple, but fun and fitting for the song. We will definitely try to learn it!
In conclusion Oh My Girl's songs were fun, but pretty basic girl group songs. A few of them will definitely go to our playlist though!
