"Siis mitä, pelaatteko te videopelejä?! :O"
Tosi usein kun jompikumpi meistä on jollekin maininnut pelaavansa jotain videopeliä niin ollaan kuultu toi lause. Jotenki hassua, kun ollaan molemmat kuitenkin pelattu tosi kauan, Sari jostain ala-asteesta asti ja Marianne eskarista... Joka tapauksessa, päätettiin nyt kertoa teille meidän molempien lempi videopeleistä!
"What, you play video games?! :O"
Very often, when either one of us has mentioned something about a video game to someone, we have heard that sentence. It's kinda funny, since both of us have been playing for a long time, Sari since elementary school and Marianne since preschool... Anyway, we decided to tell you about both of our favorite video games!
Marianne
Mulle peleissä tärkeintä on kunnollinen, mielenkiintoinen juoni. Oon pelannut monta pelattavuudeltaan melko tylsääkin peliä läpi ihan vaan koska niiden juoni on ollut niin koukuttava. Sari usein vitsaileekin että mä pelaan vaan sellaisia pelejä, joissa ei tehdä mitään. Esimerkkejä tällaisista peleistä joita oon pelannut, on Beyond Two Souls ja The Walking Dead. Ne on enemmänkin elokuvia, joita saat itse ohjata.
Mun suosikki peleihin kuuluu kuitenkin vähän erityylisiä pelejä. Oon peleissä tosi kaikkiruokainen, joten oli aika vaikee valita vaan muutama lemppari, mutta päätin valita sellaisia, joita oon nyt eniten pelaillut.
For me the most important thing about games is a proper, interesting plot. I've played many games that had boring gameplay, but a brilliant plot. Sari often jokes that I play games where you don't have to do anything. For example Beyond Two Souls and The Walking Dead, which are more like movies you can slightly control.
My favorite games are a bit different though. I play a lot of different games, and it was difficult to choose only a few, but I chose games that I've been playing a lot lately.
Assassin's Creed
Tätä sarjaa oon hakannut jo pari vuotta läpi, mutta oon vaan niin hidas ja laiska pelaamaan, että oon vieläkin vasta kolmannessa osassa (AC Brotherhood). Tää on yks harvoja "avoin maailma" tyyppisiä pelejä, joista tykkään tosi paljon. Assassin's Creed on myös tosi opettavainen pelisarja, koska se perustuu osittain historiallisiin tositapahtumiin.
This is a series that I've been playing for a few years already, but I'm still only in the third game (AC Brotherhood).. This is one of the few "open world" games I actually like. Assassin's Creed is also a very educational game series, because it's heavily influenced by real, historical events and people.

Pelien juoni on suoraan sanottuna aika monimutkainen selittää, joten linkkaan vaikka pelin wikipedia sivun tähän loppuun jos kiinnostaa lukea lisää tästä. Joka tapauksessa, tykkään näistä peleistä koska ne ovat hauskoja sekä juoneltaan, että pelattavuudeltaan. Vaikka ohjaus ensimmäisissä peleissä onkin välillä vähän kökköä, niin kokonaisuudessa nämä ovat mahtavia pelejä ja suosittelen kaikille, jotka tykkää historiasta, mielenkiintoisesta juonesta ja loputtomasta pahisten mätkimisestä. Ja tietysti vain täysikäisille koska onhan noi K18... Verta meinaan roiskuu ja paljon. Mutta kaipa sen voi päätellä jo nimestä :D
The plot of the series is quite complicated to explain, so I linked the game's Wikipedia page below if you're interested to read more about it. Anyway, I like these games because they are fun to play and have an interesting plot. Controls are a bit sucky at times in the first games, but all in all these games are awesome and I recommend them to everyone who enjoys history, interesting plots and beating the crap out of bad guys. This game is R18, and there's a lot of blood though, so.. .be warned.
Uncharted
Unchartedit on ensimmäisiä ammuskelupelejä mistä oon tykännyt tosi paljon. Jos niitä pitäis yhdellä lauseella kuvata niin ne on kuin mies versio Tomb Raidereista (tai näin olen kuullut jossain sanottavan, itehän en oo kyseisiä pelejä pelannut varmaan koskaan...). Peleissä ammuskellaan, seikkaillaan ja etsitään aarteita selvitellen samalla milloin minkälaisia arvoituksia ja "palapelejä".
Tykkään Unchartedissa eniten hahmoista, varsinkin päähenkilö Nathan Drakesta. Äijä osaa aina valita sanansa tilanteeseen kuin tilanteeseen ja on vaan yleisesti ottaen tosi symppis vaikka heittääkin välillä aika sarkastista ja hölmöä läppää.
Uncharted is one of the first shooters I've liked very much. If I had to describe them in one sentence, it would be "Kinda like Tomb Raider, but with a guy". There's a lot of shooting, adventuring, and treasure hunting, while doing different kind of puzzles.
What I like most about Uncharted is the characters, especially the main character, Nathan Drake. Dude always knows what to say in every situation and he's just generally a super awesome guy, despite his silly puns and sarcastic jokes.
Sari
Pelataan Mariannen kanssa todella erilaisia pelejä. Päinvastoin kun Marianne, mä rakastan pelejä joissa saan tehdä mahdollisimman paljon itse. Kaikenlaiset seikkailu- ja tasohyppelypelit on mun makuun! Pienenä kattonut vierestä ihaillen kun vanhemmat siskot pelaa Super Mario Bros:ia tai Donkey Kongia ja odottanut sitä päivää kun vihdoin saa itse ohjaimen käteen.
Me and Marianne play very different games. Unlike Marianne, I love games where you get to do a lot of different things yourself. All kinds of adventure- and platform games are my thing! When I was little I used to watch my older sisters play Super Mario Bros or Donkey Kong and wait for the day I could get a controller in my own hand.
Mun yks ehdoton lemppari kutosluokkalaisesta saakka on ollut Sly Cooper -pelisarja. Sain ensimmäisenä Konnien Kunnian, eli kolmannen osan joka oli juuri sillon ilmestynyt ja siitä sitten metsästettiin pari ensimmäistä osaa. Sly Cooper on varmaan ensimmäinen pelisarja, jossa oon aina pelannu ensimmäisen pelin loppuun asti, ennen kun alotin seuraavan. Sain tosiaan pelattua kolmannen kokonaan läpi viime vuoden puolella ja nyt pelailen tuota uusinta.
One of my absolute favorite games ever since 6th grade has been the Sly Cooper series. First I got Honor Among Thieves, the third game which had just been published and after that we hunted down the first two games. Sly Cooper is probably the first game series in which I have always finished the game completely before starting the next one. I finished the third game at the end of last year and now I'm playing the newest.
Sly -peleissä seikkaillaan eräänlaisen varaskoplan jäsenillä. Alkuperäiseen kokoonpanoon kuuluu pesukarhu Sly Cooper, virtahepo Murray sekä kilpikonna Bentley. Riippuen pelistä, lisää hahmoja saattaa saada pelattavaksi ;) Peleissä on eri jaksoja, joissa ollaan yhdessä kaupungissa jakson aikana. Esimerkiksi kakkonen alkaa Pariisista jossa koplan tavoitteena on löytää taidevarkaalta erään metallilinnun sulat. Saavuttaakseen tavoitteen, tehdään paljon erilaisia keikkoja joista on hyötyä eri tilanteissa. Jokaisella jäsenellä on omat "erikoisvoimansa" jolloin pelataan aina sillä hahmolla, mitä tehtävä vaatii. Viimeisenä on aina yksi suurempi keikka, jossa pelataan kaikilla hahmoilla vuorotellen. Peli tempaisee hetkessä mukaansa ja huumoriakin on saatu hahmojen juttuihin vähän meille vanhemmillekin laitettua :D
In the Sly- games you play as different members of a gang of thieves. In the original group there's a raccoon named Sly Cooper, a hippo named Murray and a turtle named Bentley. Depending on the game, you might get other characters to control too ;) There's different chapters and you're in one city per chapter. For example the second game starts in Paris, where the gang has to find the feathers of a metal bird from an art thief. To achieve this goal, you do a lot of different gigs which help in different situations. Each member has their own "special powers" and you switch characters depending on the situation. At the end of each chapter there' a bigger gig in which you play with all the characters. The game pulls you in really quickly and there's a lot of humor for the older audience too :D
World of Warcraft - tässä peli mikä usein herättää huvittuneisuutta ihmisissä kun paljastan pelaavani sitä. Yläasteella pelailin kaverilla aluksi, sillä oma englannintaito ei tosiaan riittänyt tehtävien suorittamiseen. Siinä sitten kahdeksannella luokalla sain oman version ja sanakirjan kanssa taisteltiin :D Muutama vuosi oli pelistä taukoa, mutta nyt viimesen vuoden aikana oon päässyt takaisin kirjoille.
World of Warcraft - now this is a game which often brings up a lot of amusement in people when I reveal that I play it. In junior high I played at my friends house, because I wasn't good enough in English. In 8th grade I got my own version and thus began my battle with a dictionary :D I had a few years break of the game, but I've got back in the game in the last year.
WoW tosiaan on avoimen maailman roolipeli, missä voit eri serverille luoda hahmon tai useamman ja aloittaa oman matkan sieltä. Peliä pelaa ympäri maailmaa ihmisiä, joiden kanssa voi sitten pelailla tai ihan vaan itsekseen. Peruspelillä pääsee hyvin aloittamaan, mutta mm. kuudes lisäosa tuli tossa viime syksynä julki. Peliaika on maksullista pelin oston jälkeen. Ensimmäisen osan mukana saa 30 päivää peliaikaa, mutta jatkossa voi ostaa joko kuukaudeksi tai useammaksi kerrallaan, ihan miten itse tulee pelailtua/oltua kotona. World of Warcraftin juoni- ja hahmoselosteista saisi aikaan kokonaisen postaussarjan, joten Mariannen tavoin linkkaan Wikipedia -sivun tähän lisäksi :) (Jos siellä ruudun takana on muita pelaajia niin ilmotelkaa millä serverillä pelailette ;) )
WoW is an open world role playing game, in which you can create characters in different servers and start your journey there. The game is played by people around the world and you can play with them or alone. The basic game is a good way to start, but for example the sixth expansion was released last fall. You have to pay for game time after you buy the game. In the first game you get 30 days of free game time, but after that you can buy time for either a month or many months, which ever is better for you and how much you play. You could write a whole blog post of the plot and characters of World of Warcraft, so like Marianne did, I'll link the Wikipedia page :) (If there's any players, comment which server you play in :) )
